Adivalor shows positive results six years after it was created
upon an initiative from the UIPP (professional agro suppliers),
the national subsidiary that manages phytopharmaceutical
waste (from industrialists, distributors, chambers of
agriculture, the FNSEA¹ network) and which is helped and
supported by public partners (MEDAD², water agencies,
territorial authorities…):
the national rate of the collection of empty containers was of 50% in 2006, so about 3,900 tons. The analysis of results per area confirms a very important heterogeneity of the results depending on the departments (between 20 and 90%);
1,445 tons of unusable phytopharmaceutical products from 66 departments were eliminated in 2006. Over the 2002/2006 period, 8,200 tons were collected within the framework of the elimination of historical stocks programme implemented by the subsidiary partners with the help of the Authorities, representing 70% of the deposit estimated in 2006;
the elimination of stocks of sodium arsenite from distributors and wine-producers was made possible thanks to Adivalor’s expertise and know-how, and with the help of the Authorities. Sodium arsenite is banned from use and there is no time-limit for stock distribution. The elimination of this product used in the fight against vine esca required a specific recycling programme.
