representative body

The UIC endeavours to make itself heard everywhere and in every field connected to the activities and interests of its members.
 
Concerning chemistry only, the UIC is a member of the CEFIC (the European Chemical Industry Councile) based in Brussels. The CEFIC represents the interests of 22 countries and is an efficient representative to the European authorities.

The UIC plays a major part in CEFIC works.

The CEFIC itself is a member of the ICCA (International Council of Chemical Associations), which federates the major representatives of world chemical industry and makes it possible to give a global vision of the chemical industry to authorities such as the UNO, the WTO and ISO.

The UIC is also a member of the major professional federations in the MEDEF (French Industry and Service Confederation). The UIC is a member of the MEDEF authority and contributes to the activities of MEDEF, in which it acts as the spokesperson for the French chemical industry.

Last, the UIC represents the chemical industries to public authorities. It deals with the relations with the French and European Representatives as well as the NGO.

The UIC also holds many national mandates and is on the board of directors of several joint institutions.
